This one came from a weekend visit when my sister worked at the camp. A friend and I were staying in the ancient Fort Caswell Hotel, where the presence of history and lingering spirits of previous visitors was strong. It WAS about midnight, and we had the door open to the back porch, looking out into the spooky darkness and imagining ghosts of the past just out of sight - or raccoons on the prowl for snacks!
