Mosaic Abstract Print No. 1
"Mosaic Abstract 1"
Digital Art, 2024
This is a filtered and colorized version of abstracts based on three acrylic panels that I did for the Fifth Street Windows Project in 2004 in Charlotte, NC, sponsored by Tryon Art Center there. Each artist was hired for 6 months to provide 3 different displays of art for two large display windows facing 5th Street. The fun part (and the challenge) was to have three different displays: either paint 6 very large panels (46" x 32") which had to be light fast and temperature resistant (no heat or AC in those windows!), or create works that could be rotated or rearranged in 3 different combos, changed every two months. I chose to do three and shift them around. They were based on a design I had done several years earlier which was based on an ancient mosaic tile. A few years later, I started working with the design again in different media - this abstract is one of many. Digital colors really blow me away - more to come, I hope!
